“ENERGY is the real substance behind the appearance of matter and forms.”
Dr. Randolph Stone, Polarity Therapy Founder
What is Polarity Therapy?
Polarity Therapy was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, doctor of Osteopathy, Naturopathy and Chiropractic, over a period of 60 years of practice and study. It represents a synthesis of Eastern and Western healing principles and techniques which positively impact mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, as well as physical health.
Polarity Therapy is offered on a massage table while the client remains fully clothed. It includes a combination of light and firm pressure contacts, gentle rocking and stretching which promote the flow of life energy throughout the body. It has a sacred quality, putting you in touch with inner guidance and realigning the body to be in harmony with the soul.
What To Expect: The Polarity Therapy Session
In a typical session, the practitioner assesses energetic attributes using palpation, observation and interview methods. Sessions usually take 60-90 minutes, do not require disrobing, and involve soft touch, some rocking as well as point specific touch.
Contact may be light, medium or firm. In the session, the practitioner supports the client in increasing self-awareness of subtle energetic sensations, which are often experienced as tingling, warmth, expansion or wavelike movement.
The results of Polarity Therapy sessions vary, and may include profound relaxation, an understanding of energetic patterns and their implications, and relief from numerous specific problematic situations such as hypertension, anxiety attacks and breathing disorders.
Benefits
Polarity Therapy is very effective for building inner resources to manage stress. As a person is more able to sense and appreciate subtle inner energetic experience, he or she is more capable of self-regulation and less likely to be affected by external factors.
The Polarity principles of expansion and contraction, or yang and yin, are universal in human experience, and may support healing in areas such as trauma resolution, relationship dynamics and personal empowerment.
The Polarity model has identified specific links between body and emotions, including the mental-emotional attributes of the elemental chakras and the psychodynamics of yang and yin experienced internally (as mental-emotional health and coherence), and externally (in relationships).
Polarity Therapy emphasizes personal responsibility. Practitioners support clients in taking charge of their lives and finding their own solutions.
